sponsors Allerton Park Horse Trials September 18 2015

Always in the forefront of the riding scene, are pleased to announce that they are proud sponsors of this year’s Allerton Park Horse Trials.  The trials are held in the grounds of the Gothic styled stately home of Allerton Castle.  There are 260 acres of superb parkland with lakes, woodland, meadow and views across the Vale of York.   The horse trials are easy to get to, being just off the A1 near Harrogate.

The trials are run by Lady Mowbray and John Johnstone with a team of 200 volunteers.  Allerton Park has been holding the event for over 15 years and is an important date in the British Eventing Calendar.  It attracts over 500 riders and more than 2,500 visitors.

Eventing is a sport that is a test of all round horsemanship where everyone competes equally – this is what makes it so exciting as amateurs and champions, men and women, young and experienced horses compete against each other.

Ian Stark, the Olympic Medallist, designed the courses.  The courses are chosen to put the riders to the test, with bold fences and natural features they present challenges as the course goes over the undulating landscape.   Dominic Lawrence helped to build the 2012 Olympic Course and is the course builder for Allerton Park Horse Trials.

So what is there for the spectator?  A chance to get into these beautiful grounds which are only open for events such as these horse trials.  Bring a picnic – there is a secluded spot called Juniper’s Coppice where the horses don’t go through but offers excellent views of the action as the horses and riders jump the fences.  Of course there are the usual catering stands to cater for the hungry visitor.  Above all, the opportunity to enjoy some great competitors, see superb riding and have a lovely day out.

Do come and visit the Allerton Horse Trials on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September
